At the Final Fantasy XIV Digital Fan Fest, Square Enix pulled back the curtain on its hotly anticipated melee DPS class. It’s the Reaper, and it’s already giving fans heavy Bloodborne energy.
The Reaper gives players access to a two-handed scythe, in addition to a wraith-like summon called a voidsent. As with the previously announced Sage class, the Reaper is an original job created just for the upcoming Endwalker expansion.
In terms of specifics, the Reaper will be available to any Endwalker player with an existing job at level 70. The new expansion will raise the level cap from 80 to 90, and serve as an ending point for the current Final Fantasy XIV narrative.
Catch a glimpse of the Reaper class in the brief reveal trailer below:
This announcement comes hot off the heels of our Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker melee DPS class predictions. While none of our predictions ended up coming to fruition, the class looks like an exciting new addition to the Final Fantasy lore.
What is the Endwalker Reaper Class Release Date?
You’ll be able to play the Reaper once Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker releases. The expansion has an updated release window of fall 2021, though expect more details in the coming weeks.
