Lost Soul Aside Resurfaces With a Meaty New Trailer

After some lengthy radio silence, Chinese action-RPG Lost Soul Aside is making waves with a new, 18-minute gameplay trailer. The reveal comes alongside the announcement that the game is in development for both PC and PlayStation 5.

Those who have followed the lengthy development of Lost Soul Aside can vouch for the impressive nature of the project. Announced in 2016, the game wowed audiences with its high-speed combat and slick visuals. The game drew immediate comparisons to the Devil May Cry series and then-upcoming Final Fantasy XV. But what truly set Lost Soul Aside apart was the revelation it was being created by a single person: Chinese developer Yang Bing.

Things have changed since 2016. Lost Soul Aside has grown in scope, and Bing has enlisted a team of developers to assist him. The project was picked up by the China Hero Project, a PlayStation-centric program that publishes independent Chinese games for a global audience. Under the studio name Ultizero Games, Bing and his team have continued to plug away at Lost Soul Aside. And now, the game’s officially set for the latest generation of consoles.

Lost Soul Aside Release Date and Platforms

Lost Soul Aside has been confirmed for PC and PlayStation 5, but a release date has yet to be announced. Given the game’s lengthy development time, it feels safe to assume Ultizero is targeting the earlier half of the PS5 lifecycle. That said, games like Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian have gone through development hell before. You never know for sure when a game is “done,” and when it needs more time in the cooker.

While it’s premature to anticipate a release window, expect to see more on Lost Soul Aside in the coming months. For now, enjoy these 18 minutes of brand-new footage:
