Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day (and absolutely nothing else)! If you’re reluctantly tuning in to Season 47 of the United States this morning… I’m sorry. Not how we drew it up, but don’t get discouraged; there’s still plenty of game to play.
Speaking of games, it’s not all doom and gloom this week. We’re celebrating a fun milestone that should levy the heart, if only for a beat. Last year’s excellent Final Fantasy VII Rebirth hits PC on Thursday, January 23, allowing a whole new crop of players to immerse themselves in the adventures of Cloud, Aerith, and the gang.
Sure, it isn’t exactly escapism at its finest. Gaia has its own share of political incorrigibles and climate change deniers to contend with. But hey! Queens Blood rules, and those Chocobos sure are cute.
To celebrate our favorite band of Avalanche freedom fighters, The Punished Backlog is bringing you a week of coverage dedicated to the world of Final Fantasy. We’ve got pieces running the gamut this week, from Rebirth roundups to future Final Fantasy wants and needs. There’s never been a better time to get into the franchise, and we’re ready to help you hit the ground running.
