Welcome to Friday Fortissimo, where we kick off the weekend with a Friday vibe check! This week’s entry is a bonafide bop: “Paradise (Stay Forever)” from Paradise Killer.

I’ve written at length about Paradise Killer. It’s an open-world detective game that has you keeping tabs on friends, foes, and former lovers. While the gameplay is satisfying in its own right, the real draws here are its inclusive characters and its killer jazz soundtrack.

Take a listen for yourself.

I mean, come on now. That vaporwave intro. Those horns. The groovy bass line. Fiona Lynch’s vocals. And we can’t forget the chorus:

Our red skies / Where love dies
25 you’ll stay forever / Here in paradise
Your red lines / Those blue crimes
Close the door I’ll stay forever / Here in paradise

Oh, and the sax solo. We love a sax solo.

The whole soundtrack’s as good as the intro track. Composer Barry “Epoch” Topping also released a “B-Sides” album to coincide with a recent Paradise Killer content update. Listen in bliss to both below.

Enjoy your weekend, folks!
