Galaxy Member is there for you when no one else is. He deserves his own name.

Everyone in Town Gets a Name

One of the first things I noticed in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is that every single townsperson in Jubilife Village has their own name. Wow. So sweet. So earnest. It really made the town come to life for me.

Their requests made me feel so much more a part of their world. Yes, Dagero, I’d be happy to help you research Pokémon for your photography studio. Wow, Floaro, I’d love to collect random berries to make a bran muffin for your Eevee. And sure, Zeke, I can definitely find Wanda, the dear sweet fool, who can’t help but get lost across this wide wonderful world. The quests let me know I was helping individual people. I’m Making a Difference.

So why the heck doesn’t Galaxy Member, the guy who helps ME, get to have a name?

Jubilife villagers (WHO ALL HAVE NAMES, even that toddler) in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

It’s Just Not Fair

Look at all these people. Every single one of these people has their own name, and none of them do for the protagonist anything close to what Galaxy Member does. Galaxy Member is there at the crack of dawn. Galaxy Member stands IN THE RAIN. Galaxy Member cavalierly gets closer and closer to a giant hole in the sky. Galaxy Member creates a secure transport for my Pokémon, gives me my own personal traveling store, and checks on my self-care—“Hey girl, do you need a nap?”

Galaxy Member travels the WORLD (apparently, at light speed with Professor Laventon, who conveniently rushes across the land just in time to ask me about my research but never in time to help with a battle or setting up camp… I like to imagine the two of them speeding across the land on a Rapidash together, Laventon with his arms around Galaxy Member’s waist), and still, no name.

Sure, maybe it’s a Nurse Joy situation and there’s actually dozens of Galaxy Members around Sinnoh. But then, can’t they all at least be called Galaxy Member Kai?

Meanwhile, aptly named Bagin cons Survey Corps members with his ripoff Marie Kondo techniques.

Please, Game Freak

If you can patch Pokémon Legends: Arceus to make Cherubi less impossible to catch, you can give the most loyal dude in Sinnoh his own name.
