Finding Link’s Trusty White Horse

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is known for its lush vistas and unparalleled sense of freedom. While you can go anywhere in any order, we recommend you add one thing to your to-do list early on: The Royal White Stallion.

What Is The Royal White Stallion?

The Royal White Stallion is a side quest in Breath of the Wild. By completing the quest, Link can add the titular white horse to his stable—providing a speedy new companion to roam the fields of Hyrule with.

Start the quest by heading to Outskirt Stable. The stable is located just by the Rota Ooh Shrine, southwest of Hyrule Field. Once you find the stable, speak to Toffa, the NPC hanging out just outside the main tent.

As you approach the stable, Toffa is the elderly man on the left-hand side.

When you speak to Toffa, the elderly man will ask Link if he’s seen a pure-white horse in his travels. He’ll then ask you to track the stallion down, tame it, and guide it back to the stables.

Seems straightforward, but where exactly do you look? Luckily enough, Toffa provides a nearby location—Safula Hill—to aid your search.

Where Is Safula Hill?

Safula Hill is located past the Manhala Bridge north of Outskirt Stable.

Safula Hill (red icon) is located just north of Outskirt Stable.

Follow the road north and cross the bridge. From there, head forward until you come to a fork in the road. You should see Dalite Forest on your left. Continue right until you come to an open field.

The Royal White Stallion should be grazing nearby. Keep an eye out for its spotless, snow-white hair. Once you’ve located the horse, you’ll need to sneak up slowly and soothe it before you can ride it back to the stables.

Returning to Outskirt Stable

Once you return to Outskirt Stable, register the White Stallion and speak with Toffa. He’ll express his gratitude, then drop a tidbit we won’t spoil here.

As a reward for your troubles, Toffa will give you the Royal Bridle and Royal Saddle horse accessories. Of course, you’ll also be free to take out the White Stallion and ride around with it to your heart’s content!
