Celebrating 30 Years in Style
Capcom just announced a new installment in the Mega Man franchise as part of the series’ 30th anniversary live stream. Mega Man 11 does away with the 8-bit style of the previous ten games, opting for the newer, 2.5D sheen that made Mighty No. 9 such a hit last year.
Joking aside, Mega Man 11 looks to iterate on the Mega Man formula when it launches in “Late 2018” for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Catch the full teaser trailer for Mega Man 11 here:
The news was broken alongside the announcement of a new Mega Man collection focusing on Mega Man X. Fittingly titled Mega Man X Collection, the anthology will include all eight Mega Man X titles and is set for release in summer 2018. Like Mega Man 11, this new collection will launch on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
Capping things off was the announcement that the previous two Mega Man collections, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2, would be making their way to Nintendo Switch. As someone who dabbled with the two collections on the television via Xbox One, I’m excited to have both of these anthologies in the palm of my hand (while MMLC made it to Nintendo 3DS, the second never did). Both versions will have amiibo support, so you better find that Mega Man Smash Bros. figurine you skipped out over while you can.
For those keeping count, that means all eleven Mega Man titles, as well as all eight Mega Man X titles, will now be available across PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. It’s a good time to be alive.
