Welcome to another glorious week! With the summer winding down, what better time to dust off the cobwebs of that backlog of yours.
Here’s what we’re up to as fall approaches:
David
Last week was pretty light for me. Finished the first novel of Stephen King’s Dark Tower series: The Gunslinger (expect a review for that on the site relatively soon). Moved on to reading The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch as a brief side-activity before returning to King’s 7-book epic.
On the game side of things, dropped all PS4 games in the backlog (brother is taking it back to school) in favor of some Xbox One, Switch and PC stuff. Witcher 3, Sonic Mania, and an upcoming game I’m excited to share more on in the coming weeks: Wizard Fu’s Songbringer.
New game purchases: 1
Games beaten: 0
Net backlog: +1
Jack
Starting Survivor: Redemption Island. It is labeled as the worst season and I am very much a masochist for forcing myself to watch the entire thing.
Augustine
Still 2/9 in Mythic ToS Progression and working on completing La Mulana. Decided to drop Persona 5: NG+ to complete other games on the back log including Horizon: Zero Dawn. Like Kei I decided to replay through Fire Emblem: Binding Blade as well as both Fire Emblem: Blazing Blade and Sacred Stones.
Currently playing through the campaign of Starcraft: Remastered, which released last week.
PJ
I’m honestly not doing much. Slowly chugging along through P4G and, not so much playing BotW, more like punishing myself with one of the most fruitless challenges in gaming for an article.
Kei
8 chapters into FE6. Girlfriend stole the PS4 so I may dip into the PS3 backlog and finally play Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Other than that, started playing Fire Emblem Heroes, which hasn’t been an altogether terrible experience.

Huge video game, comic book, and anime fan. Spends way too much time watching things he doesn’t like. Hates Zack Snyder. Mains Falco.

Jack is unsure why he’s a contributor to The Punished Backlog, as compared to the rest of the team his qualifications in the gaming department are considerably lacking. But fun passion projects are right up his alley (he has his own podcast too!), and he is excited to bring a unique, albeit sarcastic voice to the site. You can follow him on twitter @JackLinnehan where he mostly tweets about sports, Survivor, and generally lots of jokes.

PJ's played games for the better part of 16 years. His earliest gaming memory involved going to his neighbor's house to play GTA Vice City way too young. His second was being thoroughly unamused at a demo in Target. It was weird and hard. You had to keep swinging on ropes. That game was The Wind Waker, his favorite game of all time.
He speedruns. He writes about speedrunning.
He plays music. He writes about music.
He Tweets. Find it here: @HashtagPManning

David is the founder of The Punished Backlog. He has a problem finishing games he starts. Just beat: Nine Sols, UFO 50. Working on: Metaphor: ReFantazio. Can't wait for: Hollow Knight: Silksong. Follow David on Twitter at @David_Silbert to keep up to date with all things The Punished Backlog.

Augustine is our resident Blizzard and PC gaming expert. When he’s not playing World of Warcraft, Overwatch, or League of Legends, he’s probably playing some random steam game that looks interesting or is replaying Final Fantasy VIII, the best one, for the 100th time.
