The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an incredibly flexible game. Powers like Ultrahand and Recall allow players to approach the game in crazy ways, and the game’s near-endless possibilities have essentially “broken” our writers’ collective minds.
Still, there’s one aspect of Tears of the Kingdom that might throw you for a loop—and that’s figuring out how to exchange heart containers for stamina (and vice versa). In Breath of the Wild, you did so by visiting the mysterious Granter of Boons in Hateno Village. But the location of the Granter of Boons in Tears of the Kingdom has changed, and if you’re not careful, you may miss it entirely.
That’s where this guide comes in. Learn exactly where to find the Granter of Boons in Tears of the Kingdom, so you can get the most out of Nintendo’s latest masterpiece.
Where Is the Granter of Boons in Tears of the Kingdom?
In a clever subversion of expectations, the Granter of Boons has moved from its previous location in Breath of the Wild. You’ll no longer find the horned statue outside of Hateno Village. In Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll find the Granter of Boons within the bunker at Lookout Landing.
There’s a twist, though. Players can’t immediately access the Granter of Boons in Tears of the Kingdom. You’ll first need to accept the “Who Goes There?” side quest, which only becomes available after you complete one of the game’s regional areas.
How Do I Start the “Who Goes There?” Side Quest?
Once you’ve completed a regional dungeon and received a champion’s ability, warp to the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and take the ladder down to the Emergency Shelter. Talk to Jerrin (the woman with the broom) to initiate the “Who Goes There?” side quest.
Jerrin will explain that she accidentally made a hole in the wall while sweeping, and that she thinks a voice is calling from the other side. Make your way through the crawl space, and you’ll arrive at the Royal Hidden Passage. Clear out some rocks, then take a right at the fork. You’ll find the Granter of Boons up to its usual shenanigans.
How Does the Granter of Boons Work?
Just like in Breath of the Wild, the Granter of Boons allows Tears of the Kingdom players to sell one Heart Container or Stamina Vessel for 100 rupees, and then buy another back for 120 rupees. Essentially, you’re paying 20 rupees to exchange one heart for one stamina segment (or the reverse).
The Granter of Boons is an invaluable resource for players just starting out in Tears of the Kingdom. Whether you need some extra stamina for climbing or need some additional hearts to navigate the Depths, the horned statue gives you the flexibility to play the game how you see fit.
