Let’s Go Ahead and Set Expectations, Shall We?
Another day, another stealth Nintendo Direct announcement. The Big N shared the news via Twitter (below), and my mind already started racing with the possibilities.
40 minutes! Just on Nintendo Switch games coming in H1 2022! That’s a lot of content.
Then I remembered how these Directs normally go, and I think we ought to level set on expectations. It’s for the best, really.
So, in lieu of a formal predictions piece or anything special, really, here’s a quick Q&A on what you can expect from tomorrow’s event:
Q: Will the Breath of the Wild Sequel Be There?
No.
Q: Will Hollow Knight: Silksong Be There?
No.
Q: Think Nintendo’s Ready to Talk Metroid Prime 4?
You think I know? (The answer’s no.)
Q: OK. What’s Reasonable to Expect, Then?
Kirby. Pats on the back about Pokémon: Arceus. More N64 games coming to Switch Online. A Splatoon 3 release date, perhaps?
Q: Anything… More Surprising That That?
What am I, a miracle worker? All I have is the crystal ball, I don’t work at Nintendo!
…
(Seriously though, could we get some news on that Mario + Rabbids sequel?)
What Do You Want to See From the 2/9 Nintendo Direct?
Jokes aside, tomorrow’s Direct should have some interesting updates, and potentially a few surprises.
